(Bottle, Aufsturz, Berlin, 24 July 2014) Reddish brown colour with lasting, beige head. Malty nose with notes of roasted malt, crisp-bread and spicy hops. Malty, slightly roasted taste with crisp-bread, chocolate and a balanced spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Dark amber to brown color with a big beige head, frothy and slightly creamy. Aroma of malt, dark bread, caramel, a nutty note and light toastiness. Sweet flavor of caramel and dark bread, light toastiness and a slightly drier finish. Light to medium-bodied. OK, just a bit too sweet.

Bottle, smallish head, quite clear deepish brown colour, aroma of dark breadand caramel, flavour of dark bread and butterscotch with a hint of chocolate, light bitterness, quite dry. Bland and boring.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch röstmalzig, Karamell, leicht schokoladig. Geschmack röstmalzig, Karamell, Schokolade, leicht fruchtig.

0,5 l bottle with that awful screw top. Dark red brown in the glass, small head, yeast chunks on the bottom. Soft malty at the start later a little bit more to dark malt but not really roasted. Sweetness in the background. Easy to drink like most of the Engel brews, not bad but not very special.

Had this at Schmitz Katze Kreuzberg, Berlin, Germany Friday 15th November 2013 Pours dark brown with small off-white head. Soft in mouth, sweet, caramel, touch thin.There is a slight metallic twang to this, bit minerally. Ok. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1
