Bottle: Deep amber coloured, thin foamy off-white layer; faint dark-malty, caramelly and alcoholic nose; sweet-malty flavour with a tinge of chocolatey bitterness; quite light bodied for a beer of this strength; sweet finish with a lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Not unpleasant, but a quite bland and one-dimensional Doppelbock, would be better called "Warsteinerized European Strong Lager"........................

(bottle) Clear and dark amber colour with a ruby shine and a short frothy tanned head. Sweet malty, slightly toasted and shy aroma with a hints of cardboard. Sweet flavour, medium to full body, medium carbonation. Sweet worty taste with toasted malt and caramel. Slim sweetbitter finish, slightly metallic.
