Bottle, 6.5%. 3 weeks past BB date. Quite malty aroma with a little sweet bread and dust. Hazy chestnut colour. Small tan head. The flavour is nicely malty and slightly sweet. Balanced well by a good alcohol level and a little clean bitterness. There is some fruit in the flavour as well, slightly dried and sweet. The alcohol level gives a good mouthfeel.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Tastes very spicy, modest sweet, a bit alcoholic. Warming finish, still very spicy. Not as dry as other Maibocks. Great beer!

500mL flip top at Spuyten Duyvil poured into an imperial pint glass with a hazy dark straw color. Aroma is sweat cereal and a German berry-like lager yeastiness. Taste is sweet cereal with that lagered german fruiitness. Just a fine German beer.

Bottle from the "Walnut Creek" BevMo. Bright copper color with a white ring for head. Fresh caramel aroma with a hint of bitter. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is light sweet malt with a little bitter for balance. A bit buttery; a bit grassy. Clean and refreshing. Whether it matches the style? It drinks very well, and I am finding it a break after a 10% barleywine. This is actually a very good lager. And I think it fits the style.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Amber coloured, thin, quickly diminishing white head; robust sweet dark malty aroma with distinctive traces of roast malt; sweetish flavour with bitter edges; mainly sweet malty finish, a bit chocolatey, a bit toasted, some faint bitterness in the very end. Medium bodied. Good, but not overwhelming......
