The near black body is easily penetrated by light - foamy, but small head, with moderate lacing - you need to take really deep sniffs to get the aroma out of this one - smells like chocolate, sea salt, and faint roasted malts - very low carbonation, and a highly chalky mouthfeel - this, coupled with the sea salt qualities of the aroma, makes me feel like I’m licking the cliffs of Dover - the flavor is of a standard, middle of the road stout (roasty, slight coffee, toffee, etc.), but it is fairly weak, and by the time the finish comes around, there is almost nothing left but the taste of chalk and minerals - unless you’re gunning for a spot in the stouties, I’d pass this one by.

Looks like I’m right with the "mean" on this beer. Pours deep, translucent red-brown with a medium light tan head. Brown sugary, chalky aroma. Flavor is somewhat complex but a bit too light for my taste, with roasted malts/toast flavors interplaying with brown sugar, earthy hops, and a chalky/woody mouthfeel. Slight acidity. Relatively porter-like. A decent beer but doesn’t pack enough punch.

The aroma is sweet, chocolate, coffee, oranges, and a slight note of sourness. The color is dark ruby red and it has a small chocolate brown head. The flavor is sweet malty, chocolate that turns coffee bitter in the end. A great flavor.

Bottled. Dark black with beige head. Licorice aroma. Soft and rather dry with notes of coffee. Surprisingly mild. Medium bitterness.

Typical stout appearance with a plainly hopped aroma. The flavour is slightly citric accompanied by bitterness. Generally a plain beer which is not particularly good.
