En Bottenvikens till surströmmingen. Det finns de som menar att mjölk är det enda rätat, men vi menar att sältan i surströmmingen går som hand i handske till en öl med både kropp och beska. För den som inte gillar fisken så får ni ändå ölen och det fina med att ses i goda vänners lag.

Kalax är en festlager bryggd för att möta strömmingen, tillbehören och sensommarens högtid.

330ml slim can, No. 122, sold to me by djoeye. A resting off-white head to a close-to-clear amber-gold body. Moderate aromas with grainy malts and grass. Caramel fruity flavours added by grassy hops. Mid-sweet grass-grainy ending. Medium bodied. Fair enough. (Tromsø, 15.11.2024).

Can from Systembolaget beställningssortiment. Golden with a large white head. Bread, hay, grain and citrus. Quite bitter finish. A solid Märzen.

[ As Bottenvikens Kallax ].
ABV: 5.9%. Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, pale malt, sweet malt, earthy - earthy malt. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity malt, fruity hops, pale malt, sweet malt, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20231026]

Sample (thanks omhper!). Golden colour, mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is floral, nutty, some mild caramel and a bit earthy tones. Flavour is grainy, floral, mild nectary and lemongrassy tones. Flavour is kind of aloe vera, mild grains, lemongrass, floral, and some spruce tips to it as well. Quite brutally hopped Märzen, so maybe not really standard Märzen, but still a really nice brew!

--Canned, from Systembolaget. -- Almost clear deep golden, rich firm head. Aroma of hay and bread. Mid sweet with above medium body and well rounded mouthfeel. Solid bready malt, mils floral hay. Long bitter finish. Solid malt, generous hops. Nice!
