This latest entry in our Donut Series pours dark, dark black with a creamy head. Aromas of vanilla custard and chocolate. A big beer with a big, smooth, chewy, lasting mouthfeel. Expect flavours of milk chocolate up front with notes of vanilla custard and sticky toffee rounding it out, providing a sweet and decadent finish to this dessert of a beer.

Some thickness, low viscosity. Pretty sweet, a lot boozy, fairly bitter and some roastiness. Toffee, coffee and some chocolate. The flavors aren't too bad but quite unbalanced. Nice.

Can at Sindie in Siena. Pours inky black with basically no head. Aroma is crazy toffee, vanilla, cream, chocolate, cacao. Full body. Flavour is rich, sweet, lots of dark malts, sweet chocolate, intense toffee, creamy vanilla, cacao, long caramel finish.

pours dark brown, but not black, not that dark for an imperial stout, light brown head. Aroma of sweet bakery cakes, cinnamon, some of the artificial notes you could find in light chocolate. cake frosting, not much roasted malts compared to the bakery stuff. Flavor is more full and balanced it its own quite sweet bakery corner, more cake frosting than aroma, more real dark chocolate cake flavors, some vanilla, bit less cinnamon, flavor is fairly close to some sort of chocolate dessert cake with frosting. Roasted malts are so much in the background that I can't really taste any, the ending is bitter, but the bitterness is coffee like more than roasted malty like or hoppy like. Certanily a imperial pastry stout true to style, if the style is to be much more pastry than stout. Palate is strangely grainy. I think the pour changed through the can a bit, I suggest rolling the can to mix things up, before opening.
