Bottle @ Falling Rock, Denver, Co. Pours dark ebony with a small light brown head. Have a light olie surface after head fades. Nose is chocolate, port, brown sugar, anise, oak, dark fruit. Taste is very complex with all elements from aroma, cherries, blackberries, light booze. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Very nice, but a sipper, think it would be lovely with some sweet deserts. 031210

75cl bottle, celebrating the recent dollar weakness. bbf 25-9-2011, brewed 6yrs before. Almost pitch black, but i think actually very very dark brown. smooth small head with some lacings. looks very much like a stout ;-). Aroma is a little bit swet fruity, banana, pear, roasted notes. orange, very mild aroma for a 11% beer, but quite complex. lots going on. flavor is sweet fruity, dry, sort of stingy flavor at first. when warmed up, roasted grains also blends in. boozy, sort of like a port barrelled someting. flavor resembles perhaps dessert wine or portwine. an infected imp could taste somewhat along these lines, but i won’t accuse this one for being infected, its just... strange. some orange in the flavor too. alc is fantastically well hidden.complex beer.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color ale with a small but condensed light brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet dense malt with light vinous notes at the end. Taste is a complex mix between some spices and dry fruit with light dry finish including some vinous notes. Body is really full with a great creamy texture and great carbonation with no alcohol being apparent. Very well made and something I would like to try again.

Courtesy of my man Gillard. This 2007 vintage pours coffee brown with thin off white head. The aroma has notes of sweetness, sweet dark fruit, spiciness and spruce tree. It has a very sweet taste with sweet malts and sweet molasses followed by candi sugar and assorted spices. I get alcohol heat in the nose and the taste.

An amber ale with a thin creamy moka head. Aroma of creamy absinthe, coriander, and warming alcohol and roots. On mouth, a light licorice malt, caramel, food warming alcohol. Rich and smooth. Wow! Bieropholie import.

Little aroma. Black with thin tan head. very malty, scant hops. Slightly chocolatey, slightly bitter, with a sweetish chocolatey finish.

Bottled (thanks to whoever sent/gave this to me, lost track...). Very deep brown colour, close to black, mediumsized brown head, nice lace. Aroma is some sour fruits, mild roastiness, spiced, yeast and mild notes of raisins, plum and some nuttyness. Flavour is quite much the same along with some red berries and mild notes of vanilla. Aftertaste is chocolateish and a bit nutty with some spicy hints. Big beer and surprisingly full of everything. Hides the alcohol very well too.

Smooth palate. Aroma and flavor have fruit, there are figs and plums. Black in color. Sweet malt. Some sweet Christmasy spices. Very nice palate, thick and heavy.
