50cl Bottle, thanks bierkoning! ABV 5.4%. Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts, some dark fruits, light nuttiness, burnt caramel. Flavour is medium sweet, roasted malts, toast, dark fruits with a light sour twang, some milk chocolate, light nutty bitter finish. Light-bodied. Ho-hum.

50 cl bottle (label says 5.4%). Deep brown color. Off white head, not much. Aroma’s: grainy & (red) fruity, with some caramel retronasal. Flavor is almost neutral, slightly roasted & fruity. Light bodied. No aftertaste to speak of. Technically OK, bu rather boring

Dark amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and very nutty. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter.

This is my second bottle, pouring a deep brown (with some reddish hues), nice fluffy head fading to half finger deep skin.Moderate lacing on the glass. Light but active carbonation throughout. Strong, mellow flavor, not over powering, just a hint of bitterness on the back of the tongue after swallowing. A nice beer for a winter’s day, accompanied with some good german sausage and cheese.

Bottled 500ml. -from Sörspecialista.hu. Amber coloured, medium sized pale beige head, slightly vinous coffee nose. Light roasted malt, caramel and discreet coffee with notes of brown sugar. Dry sweet nose. Average and boring. 5.4%

July 2010: 500ml Brown bottle obtained from ’Beers of Europe’ here in the UK. The beer was poured into pint sleeve glass. Impressive looking beer, deep, dark ruby red in colour, clear and clean. The cream coloured head that sat on top managed to stay for most of the tasting, but left no lacing on the glass. Very little, if any aroma, I do struggle with most lager/pilsner based beers to find any real smell on most occasions. There were hints of malts and traces of molasses if I put my nose into the glass as the beer warmed, but initially there seemed to be nothing. The taste was sharp, crisp and more malt than hop, fairly well carbonated and ’alive’ with an almost fizzy mouthfeel. Too be fair, it is one of the better beers of this style I’ve had, the alcohol content helping to appease me and giving it a bit of body and depth: others within this style have failed to do that.

Ogi’s. Lovely amber-red body with a big off white head - nice. Nicely grainy coffee-like nose, very light raisins. Light raisiny grainy taste, sweetish, slightly boring, not bad. Not much bitterness, very light acidity and dog food. Meh. Better than the Gold.

Classic German style 50cl bottle pours clear amber with deep ruby hues and thin off white head. The aroma has nice caramel candy notes mixing with a touch of scorched toffee, more caramel candy and faint sweet dark fruity esters. The taste begins with both spicy hops and some caramel malts and caramel candy. To midway it gets a bit earthy and yeasty as well as a mild level of dark fruity esters. Into the finish the caramel candy like note comes forward and takes this into the after taste. Solid brew with a few odd notes here and there.
