Et mørkt tradisjonelt gårdsøl brygget for høytidene ved norske gårdsbruk. Delikat røykpreg, balansert bitthert og dyp sjokoladesmak. Nissefar er for oss, definisjonen av et norsk juleøl.

tap at Dash In a couple months ago, said they stored this keg for three years - This near black beer has an aroma is of roast malt, coffee, smoke, and licorice. The flavor is big on the roast malt with notes of light smoke and chocolate. It’s full bodied with a long, roasty finish. I didn’t get much spice. It seems closer to a stout than anything, but it’s very good regardless. Maybe my palate is off or maybe the years have subdued the spice. Very enjoyable though.

Appearance: Hazy deep dark and subtle red color with a tan head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Rich roasted, yeast, some spices and malty.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet, and an ok bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: Malty, bready, chocolate, some spices, yeast, roasted and mild peat.
Overall impression: I have had better batches of this one. Maybe some storage would help. Complex, but seemed to be a bit unbalanced. Although an ok ale.
Personal stats: Bottle (batch #625) from Vinmonopolet in Sarpsborg, Norway.

Draft. Deep brown body with a frothy, light brown head, lasting. Aroma of chocolate, caramel, spice, clove, nutmeg, basement, earthiness. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Some oxidation (getting past its prime), but not enough to mask the flavors. Lots of spices, but a nice, rich base.

Old rating rerated 03.01.2014, 0,5l bottle (2012) @ home:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly neutral, dark malts, roasted grain, burnt caramel, grass, chocolate, hay, hints of licorice. Taste is burnt grain, coffee, burnt caramel, ashtray, grass, cocoa, hay, hints of spices. Longlasting bitterness. Boring, just burnt roasted notes all the way. Far away from being as good as it used to be the first two or three years.

Helt grei, men litt heftig på smak om man er på jakt etter drikke til julemat.

7% bottle from Sugaya, batch 498 shared at Christmas Tasting. Smokey, bacon, chocolate aroma. A dark brown pour with a beige head. Thin-medium body, tastes smokey, roast coffee & a bit chocolatey, sweet & tasty. Easy drinking but thin. Earthy. A fuller body would boost this beers rating.

On draft at ChurckKey during its Christmas Beer tap takeover. Pours a hazy cola brown with a bubbly tan head. Aroma of dark fruits with a hint of chocolate. Flavors follow suit. Medium bodied, bitter finish.
