Traditional IPA (not USA style). Our best seller, this bottle conditioned, hopped IPA is intensely floral, with wine-like tannin and hop resins to the fore. However, allowed to ‘age’ and the tannin will almost disappear with the floral hop being replaced by a more subtle spicy character. Natural carbonation will develop and the beer will pour with a champagne like sparkle.

Slightly cloydy, beautiful orange beer with thin white head. Malts, fructose sweetness and flowers can be found from the aroma; elegant and sensitive aroma. Flavour is typically malty and aromatic fruitness, medium bitterness, some pine needles and also slightly musty. Nice to drink and body is strong enough. I hope more for hops but anyway, Ridgeway IPA is sophisticated and balanced beer.

Pours clear orange with white head. Yeast aroma is more predominant than the hops. There is also some scent of bread. The flavor is mild, definately not an American IPA. Mild hops with some spice and malt flavors. Medium body with mild carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. A decent beer, but not what I would expect when the labes says IPA.

Bottle from Londis Westholme stores, Goring on Thames, Oxon 03-05-08 consumed on 07-05-08 A decent bittersweet IPA, tangy fruity spicy and hoppy. This was surprisngly punchier and bigger than a 5.5% IPA would normally be. Some grapefruit with caster sugar but minus the little cherry, sweet malts, very nice beer.

Pours bright amber into an English pint. White head quickly subsides to skim rim. Resin and pine aromas. Crisp with a lasting citrus finish.

Huge white head. Slightly hazy orange body. Sweetish wooden hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and resin. Aroma is quite light and mild. Dry tobaccoish smoky citric hoppy taste with floral notes. No aftertaste, but a bitter, metallic taste lingers. It’s OK, but not too good. May be that it suffered in storage here at home. (0.5l bottle from Alko.)

Cask gravity at London Drinker BF 07. Gold colour, haze. Sherberty hop aroma. OK malt in mouth and then the biggest attack of hop I think I’ve ever had in a UK beer. Really hits you. Unusual to have such a citric hop finish. Aarghhhh. Crazy hop.

A golden ale with a thin white head. An herbaceaous hops aroma, with light caramel notes, and some light gin alcohol. In mouth, a light malt with british hopping, very classy, herbaceous. A tad on the lighter side, but overall pleasant. Bought at BOTW in Feb. 2006.

Bottled. Pale yellow colour, not much head. Aroma was an interesting mix of American and British hops (or atleast comparable to that!). Smooth flavour of hops, flowers and hay with slight citrus notes.
