Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy orange with a frothy white head leavin sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a a faint bready malt. Mediu Mouthfeel with sweet hop and honey. Easy to drink a very good English strong ale from Ridgeway.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a bright orange glow and a very thin off-white head. Aroma of shoe polish, coriander seed, malt, alcohol and way more shoe polish. Medium-bodied; Bitter malty and metallic flavour with a bunch of hops noticeable, some herbal and piney biting flavours, an actually pleasant dryness and some minor sweet flavours. Aftertaste a bit less refined, but some complexity is present, along with a bit of the shoe polish, some pungent flavours and a lingering dry quality. Overall, not such a bad beer - not a great beer, but some good complexity and way more hops than I’d expect and a bit drying, which was nice in this instance. I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased by my brother-in-law for Christmas - Thanks Darrin from World Market in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 23-December-2010 sampled at home in Washington on 22-May-2011.

Half liter bottle pours gold with white head. The aroma seems light skinned fruit estery and fusel and a hint of black pepper. The taste is similar with sort of pear to tart apricot skin esteriness backed by sugar sweet malts and a mild level of booze that only lets out faint whispers of floral hops from time to time.

Bottle. Pale golden body, clear. Frothy, off-white head, mostly diminishing. The aroma presents notes of hay, caramel, toasted grain, grass, caramel, pine and dough. The flavor is lightly bitter and moderately sweet. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture turning creamy in the finish, lively carbonation. Like a pale lager with more flavor and bitterness. In fact, the finish is pleasantly bitter.

500ml bottle at The Bayou
Appearance: Clear golden with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Faint Caramel, bready and some hops
Taste: Caramel, bready with some bittering hops in the finish
An OK beer, but definitely not a "hop-lover’s dream" like the description says.
