Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Golden orange colour. Moderate malty week aroma. Chocolate and nutty notes. Light sweet and bitter flavor. Caramellic. Average finish. Creamy palate. Nice.

50cl bottle - Christmas gift from my wife. Pour is clear red golden with a one inch slightly off white head that falls fast. Nice settling on the pour. Aroma of nutty, grainy sweet maltiness, a bit towards the chemical end of sweetness. Some bitter orange present as well. Taste has fairly strong diacetyl, followed by cloying sweet nutty maltiness. bitterness is present, but very muted towards the finish. Palate thin to medium, would be drinkable if cleaner.

500ml Bottle - Copper brown in colour. Fruity and malty aroma with raisins and some sweetness. Spicy malt notes in the taste with fruity hints and a light twist of aniseeed.

(50 cl bottle at Haket, Göteborg) On November 28, 2008. BB 8 10 10. Clear dark copper to brown color, white head. Sweet, chewing gum, malty, caramel scent. Dull, grassy, dry, alcohol taste. Medium mouthfeel, low biterness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a clear deep golden with a dense and creamy off-white head leaving laces. Lightly citrusy hoppy nose and a whiff of caramel. Medium-bodied with roasted malt and a little citrus before a bitter finish with also some alcohol showing. 290508

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a lacing white head. Breadish and mild spiced aroma. Flavour goes the same way with a light spice bitterness into the finish. Nice one, uncomplicated.

500ml bottle. Lighter than anticipated hue. Nutty and smoky flavors dominate the palate, while the mild crisp hop character balances it out. Some fruity English yeast and malt qualities as well. A smooth drinker, with a slight warming in the finish. Quality beer, worth a try if you are into Nut Brown Ales.

Fragrance is stronger than 6%. Look of cloudy iced tea. Yes, comes across like 6% but not over taxing on the palate. Ornery yet unsuspecting. Finish is rotting fruit or something. Nothing near Pyramid Snow Cap Ale but better than Ridgeway Very Bad Elf or any ridgeway elf I’ve had.

Half-liter bottle. Hey, the shelf tag at Family Liquors said this was really Santa’s Butt. Well, that’s okay, I can have this for now. Poured straight into the glass for a foamy beer a shade lighter than pale ale, good-sized head, but few bubbles in the beer itself. Smell is a bit alcoholic, maybe phenolic, with a touch of spices. But taste is a little bit corny. Maybe a bit of amber malts, but it also has some shared character with a European malt liquor, a bit of fusel here and there. Just interesting, not recommended, though.
