Bottled. Dark brown colour, small brown head. Aroma is mildly roasted malts, some caramel and dry fruits. Flavour is caramel malts, some mild fruity and spicyness, Really wellbalanced. Even a bit thin to be 7.5%, so really a very well made and easy to drink Xmas thing.

50 cL bottle, thanks to faroeviking. Pours deep brown with a nice reddish hue and a huge and dense light brown head. Sweet malty aroma with a mild chocolate note. Nice caramal malt and slight breadish/roasted malt flavour. Soft blend with a mild bitterness into the finish. Nice and straightforward brew with a tone of alcohol in the finish.

Bottle- (7.5% version in 2007) Dark brown in colour with a tinge of red and a large tan head. Malty aroma with coffee and roasted malts. Coffee in the taste with chocolate. Some coffee lingering in the aftertaste. Quite rich and full bodied in comparison to A Le Coq Porter. (6.5% version in 2008) - Dark brown in colour. Malty and roasted aroma with a hint of coffee and some faint smoky notes. Malty taste with coffee, chocolate and some more faint smoky hints. Not as full bodied as last year but not bad.

(Bottle 50 cl) I believe Le Coq use their ordinary porter as the base for this but adding a little bit extra of everything on the ingredient-list. Very dark if not excatly black, light brown head. Good full body and solid, very burned notes from the malts with an underlying sweetness and a pronounced bitterness. A very solid porter. 140604

Bottled. Dark ruby. Vinous and phenolic. Medium sweet and medium bodied. Simple, straight forward maltiness. Very lightly spicy with some cellary notes. Too light bodied to make up for it’s flaws.

Bottled (BB 04/2005)
Dark ruby, medium coffee head, which appears quickly. Salty, roasted and metallic nose. Medium-bodied, good roasted malty base. Alcohol ruins the palate a bit. Chocolaty aftertaste. Decent brew.

Dark amber color. Poor aroma, some caramel, paper. Quite sweet, malty, caramel. It lacks some complexity and stronger hopping. Thanks to Jens (Ungstrup) for this bottle.

Very dark brown, not hazy; yellow-brown head, fast gone. Nose with dark caramel, molasses, cookies. Molasses and burnt caramel make out the taste, alternating between scorched-bitter and quite sweet. Som bitter chocolate, when searching. Rather thinnish body & structure. Even the alcohol doesn't show. I've been rather severe in the individual scores, hence and extra pôint here. Fact is, this isn't so bad at all, just, indeed unidimensional. Thanks for the bottle, Jacob, but I'm still searching for this "Belgian Style" aroma...
