Koelschip Oerbier Donker 8,5% % vol Alc is een speciaal donker bier gebrouwen naar een recept van 1549 gevonden in een Kloosterbibliotheek in Duitsland en aangepast aan deze tijd vol van smaak met een licht zoet bittere afdronk ook een bier waar voor men gaat zitten.
Oerbier donker is gebrouwen van een mix blonde en karamel mouten, div Hallertauer hopsoorten en Fijne biergist.

Bottle, 9,5% on the label. Pours an enormous head. Raisin and molasses in the aroma. Sweet sugary alcoholic fluid with grape juice, brown sugar and roasted malt. Medium bodied. Good recipe, but the execution could be much better.

Brewery started brewing again in 2006, so this is not retired. Clear dark brown color, short creamy head. Aroma of oak wood, some ripe fruit like prunes, dark malt. Slight sweet taste, again with the fruit and the wood, some whisky notes, bit dusty and chalky though. Palate is more bitter. Flavors are not bad, but it is difficult to finish a bottle.
