0.5 l bottle from 'EDEKA Preller' (Breckerfeld) as 'Kapuziner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel', best before August 2018. Cloudy, dark brown with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty, quite yeasty-spicy aroma of caramel, milk chocolate, nuts, overripe banana and clove. Moderately sweet, malty, quite yeasty-spicy and slightly roasty taste of caramel, nuts, milk chocolate, overripe banana and clove, followed by a short, moderately bitter, minimally tart, rather yeasty-spicy and quite dry finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Decent enough, a bit too thin maybe.

Buegelverschlußflasche: Hazy, deep amber coloured, firm and creamy off-white head, that slowly collapses, moderate sweetish toasty nose with chocolatey/coffeeish spots and a certain sourish wheaty background; moderate sweet-sourish flavour, medium bodied, creamy MF; soft and lingering first sweet, later sourish caramelly and wheaty finish. An unexpected top-quality brew from a mass-market brewer...

From old tasting notes. Interesting reddish brown color. Zillions of bubbles lead to an immense rocky tan head. Spicy wheat malt bouquet with hints of anise and cloves. Sweet malty spice-like flavor. There is a light touch of hop flavor in the finish, but the maltiness shines through in this one. Nice complex spicy finish and aftertaste. The rocky head stays right through to the finish.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber hue with a creamy two-finger beige head - a nice looking beer. Unfortunately, the appearance was the highlight. Malty aroma. Taste is malt, roast, faint banana notes, hints of clove, dark, bread, nuts. Didn’t quite pull off the banana/schwarz combo.

Sampled from a 16 oz flip top brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large soapy-creamy tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was malty and bready with hints of wood and pretzel. The flavor was toasty with cocoa, wood, bread crust, dark fruit and mild bitterness. Medium length finish. Medium body. Decent
