(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a clear, orangey brown with a dense, beige head. Distinct aroma of roasted malt. Medium-bodied with roasted malt and caramel notes. Still ends fairly dry. Quite a pleasant Dunkel. 111106

(bottle) Clear, dark brown colour with a reddish shine and creamy beige head. Moderately sweet toast-malty bready aroma with toffee and chocolate. Light sweet dark malty taste with chocolate, rather slim bodied mouthfeel, smooth carbonation; moderately dry and bitter malty finish with a whiff of hops.

Very dark polished chestnut with red-orange highlights; medium gray-brown head, rapidly retreating. Slightly sourish nose, making it smell exactly as (wet) dark German sourdough bread. Very subdued, bit rainwater-like aroma too. Again a hint at sourness in the taste, a bit like pineapple; behind it more classical dark malt notes. Medium bodied, just enough body lending it a pleasing MF, slightly smooth. Middle-of-the-road at best. Probably much better on draught at the Bierkeller under the sun...

Bottle (Vroni’s Bamberg): Dark amber coloured, hazy, huge rocky, lasting brownish head; shy nose: milk-chocolate, traces of coffee; quite dry, chocolatey start, light dry bitter flavour, also dry chocolatey bitter finish; not unpleasant, but a bit watery and not so terribly aromatic.

Dark ruby color, small tanned head. Caramelly, toffee aroma, maybe some diacetyl. Slightly sweet, easy to drink schwarzbier. Roasted malty flavors in the finish. Also some sourness.

A deep red beer with a small disappearing beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel where the flavor mixes in roasted bread and hop bitterness. An OK schwarzbier - but nothing special - served way too cold in what is supposed to be one of Denmarks best pubs?!?

Slightly golden accent to the dark brown colour. The aroma is mellow, with brown sugars, light fruitiness (probably from hops) and a hint of dark bready notes. The palate is light, with dark malt notes including dark fruits. It’s a bit thin, which hurts it mostly in the finish, but otherwise a decent brew.
