Moosehead Pale Ale was our first beer to be branded Moosehead. ‘Moose Red,’ as it is referred to in the Maritimes, has a recipe dating back to 1931 and has a loyal following.
A true top-fermented ale, Moosehead Pale Ale is medium bodied and fermented at warmer temperatures to impart its floral aromatics.

341ml bottle at home on 10th Jan 2016: obtained from Beers of Europe (Canada must have moved). Poured into 16oz ’Good People Brewing Co’ (from Birmingham Alabama) glass just so the beer felt like it was in North America. Smooth white blanket on top of a golden, light and bright, clean and clear body. Mild malty nose and initial taste, strange dry metallic twang arrives after the first semi-sweetness in the mouth. More Lager like than any ’Pale Ale’ I am used too. Made me burp too! Not a great advert for Canadian beers.

Bottle from Sarkynorthener cheers Martin; clear golden yellow pour with a frothy white head, aroma has strong malts and a hint of citrus, taste has a hint of butter, wet cardboard, light citrus, sweet malts.

Been holding on a while to rate this one, as I could only find it in 24-pack. Now, found this 12. I remember liking this one better than all other Moosehead... back in the day. Looks like a typical macro-ale with a mild golden colour, a white frothy-foam head, average retention and some decent creamy-foam lace. Seems like they changed the recipe since I enjoyed this one. Lots of corn. In the aftertaste. Lingering. From the bottle, it is almost better as in a glass, the hop is like rusty water (chemical junk). Not much aromas. Yeah... not the ale I remember. Will never buy again.

Bottle 341 ml. Clear yellow color. Simple ale with average taste and aroma, some fruits, sugar and nuts, disappointment.

Clear golden beer with a fruity, sugary smell. Flavour has a slightly sickly-sweet tang to it but there’s just enough bitterness in the hops to balance it out a bit. The taste itself is a touch watery but the beer does have a bit of body in it’s favour. It’s not anything special but it’s pretty drinkable.

Clear golden. Small white head. Light, malty and slightly grainy aroma. Flavour is sweetish, malty with hints of caramel. Not memorable
