Keg at Mizens Railway Oktoberfest. Slightly sour yeasty malts aroma. Gold. Slow bubbles. Creamy white head. Gains in bitterness. Hops, burnt caramel and malt. Light. Thin. Fizzy. Abrupt. Good stuff.

Aug 04, 2025 (5/3/5/3/11=2.7): Poured from 0.5L can (bb 03.26; thanks Bernie et family from Germany). Clear blonde gold with white head. Mild corn malt, very feint grass hops, clean and simple. Aroma has a slight metallic note as it warms. Okay.

July 08, 2017 (5/2/6/3/11=2.7): (edit: didn't put it in my rating, but based on phone photos, I had this somewhere in China, probably Hong Kong) Poured from 500mL can (labelled P: 05/19/2016; E: 05/19/2017 so this one is slightly expired... should’ve checked when i bought it). Clear pale yellow with dissipating white head. Mild sweet malt, very subtle grassy hops. Not bad for a lager-type beer.

And another Helles ... 0,5 l bottle. Claer golden witha one finger white head in the glass. Smells low grainy. Taste is mid grainy low but present bitterness. Nothing really wrong but boring to be honest.

Kicsi, tartós hab, szőke szín. Gabonás, gyümölcsös illat. Lágeres, kissé száraz, malátás, enyhén fűszeres íz. Könnyed, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Nagyipari jellegű helles.

Fairly standard funky Euro-lager, better than its Dutch cousins but still not a great German lager by any means. Nose is all icky Euro-lager skunkiness, green and pungent and off-putting, but the pour’s nice, a mellow, clear gold with a frothy white head and modest lacing. Taste offers up a modest amount of lager goodness, some apple-wheat sweetness mixing with floral hops, but still seems somewhat watered down and weak. Texture’s good, I guess. Eh.

Bottle at Reading BF 2017. Clear gold lasting white head. i can’t believe I’ve never had this. Cereal aroma with some lemon. Clean basic lemon Munich beer. It’s ok but mostly its carbonation lemon cereal and a little empty. Not great clean though.

0.5 l bottle from local ’trinkgut’ as ’Spaten Münchner Hell’, best before February 2018. Clear, pale straw yellow with a thin, dense, almost stable, white head. Sweetish, slightly grassy-spicy and a bit fruity aroma of fresh grass and some citrus. Sweetish, moderately grassy-spicy and minimally fruity taste of fresh grass, some grains and a touch of citrus, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy and a bit dry finish. Thin to medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Well-balanced, refreshing, very quaffable, overall not bad!
