Amber color, cloudy. Spicy aroma, ginger and anis especially. Very herbal flavor, in which ginger, anis and kruidnagel dominate. Hint of pear fruit. Thin to medium bodied. Fairly well made, but I don’t like it.

Cloudy dark orange color. Poor smell, lots of herbs and vegetables. Taste is, considering the herbs, decent. Carbo is a little low.

Medium yellow head, fast disappearing on pinkish-tinted orange beer, well-carbonated. End of bottle solid yeast – but in suspension, and rendering the second glass visually quite unpalatable. Speculoosherbs (sweetish), slightly (masked?) sourishness. Sweet-spiced taste, mainly liquorice (drop) and some green cardamoms. Ginger too. Very flat, as the carbonation gets knocked out at pouring, it seems. Sharp short sourish ending, also in the mouthfeel. Certainly NOT overspiced. But to say that it is balanced, would be saying too much. It is more like – all impressions knocking each other out. Many thanks, Dean!
