While the Whisky is definitely present in aroma and taste, it doesn’t prevail the basis of the Grom nor is it too boozy for an 13% Barrel Aged Stout. Just the way we like it.
If you are a fan of our barrel aged series, you will
devour the Grom Highlander as well.

Bottle from Mitra Ballast. Strong whiskey with roast, light vanilla and peat, chocolate, more whiskey barrel througout. Moderate bittersweet. Pretty potent whiskey, a bit sharp. Medium body, could be more full.

Sampled @ Billie's Craft Beer Fest 2024, Saturday. A black beer. Aroma and Taste of strong dark roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, some wood, boozy finish.

Tap at Billies. Very dark brown. Lots of Scotch, dry oak, dusty, figs, raisins, oxidized notes, tar, licorice, blackberries. Over medium sweet, medium bitter. Full bodied. A bit rough, but not unpleasant.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een zwart bier met een medium beige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van whisky, vanille en gebrand hout. De smaak is vol, gebrande mout, koffie, chocolade en whisky.

Tap. Darkest brown color with tiny beige ring. Aroma is big barrel booze, whisky, not much else. Taste is nutty, chocolate, booze, wet barrels, some tannins. Sparkly-ish carbonation. Drinkable, but quite intense.

Black with creamy head. Lots of wood in the aroma and flavour. There's a solid hit of whisky in the taste. Warming.
