Bottle on board Fridtjofen 14.07.15. Reddish, dark brown. Beige head. Aroma of dark berries, dark syrup and some dark malt. Quite dry. Taste is similar to aroma, but also with prunes roasted nuts. perhaps a little bit sour. Good drinkability! Quite complex.

500 ml bottle, BB date 25.08.2013, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 7.5%. Dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white to beige head. Strong sweetish aroma of malts, caramel and dark bread with dark syrup. Medium sweet and malty flavour (but not quite as sweet as the aroma made me fear), caramel and brown bread. Very moderate hops, as expected. A slight fruitiness (hints of prunes) in the finish helps the drinkability. Nice enough now, but I might well buy another bottle and sample it fresher.

Bottle at Bratwursthausle restaurant near the castle in Nuremberg, Germany. A dark brown coloured pour with a healthy, creamy white head on top. Sweet, malty, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, slightly sweet, malty, caramel, slightly boozy. An excellent rich tasting doppelbock.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark chestnut colour with ruby red glimmer and average, thick, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, beige to tan head. Sweet-ish, dark malty aroma with a nuttily touch, hints of nougat and toffee, some liquorice. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, nuttily, a touch of liquorice, bitter hoppy counterweight with a cautious fruity touch of orange. Not overly rich, but lusty and well balanced.

Flaske fra helsekosten på Kvaddå: vakker brunlig ravfarge med fint men kort skum. Nydelig aroma og enda bedre smak av rosiner, svisker, brunsukker, lys sjokolade og bjørnebær. Voltstyrken er elegant skjult i den myke kroppen, og ettersmaken har en lett og bæraktig bitterhet som gjør den særdeles konsumabel. Dette er raske leker (lekre saker). Må oppsøkes på nytt.

0,5 l bottle from local trinkgut, best before 20/11/2015 (7.5% abv). Clear, dark brownish ruby with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, tan head. Lovely, rich aroma of plums, dark cherries, raisins and molasses, accompanied by hints of dark chocolate. Sweet taste of plums, molasses, raisins and cane sugar, followed by a crisp, medium bitter, minimally alcoholic, counterpart finish with hints of dark chocolate. Full body, very chewy, viscous mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Good Doppelbock with a typical sweet and rich taste and a full body. Overall highly satisfying, a very solid winter warmer.

500ml bottle, thanks to McTapps! Pours a deep dark brown with medium tan head. Lots of dark fruits, molasses and roasted malts forming a quintessential doppelbock taste. Enjoyable and a perfect beer on such cold night.

Flasche (50 cl) von einer Getränke-Hoffmann-Filiale, Berlin. - Dunkles Rubinrot, klar; kurzlebiger Schaum. - Geruch sirupsüß dunkelmalzig mit leicht holziger Herbe und deutlichem Fusel. - Antrunk dunkelmalzig und plump süß wie Rübensirup; grobschlächtige Karamel- und Röstaromen. Durchschnittlich rezent, vollmundig aber nicht klebrig. Im Abgang herb-krautige Hopfenbittere. Recht kräftiger, derb bitterer Nachtrunk und überdeutlicher Alkohol. - Sehr eindimensionaler Bock: erst karamelsüß, dann derb bitter, zuletzt faulig-fuselig. Zeitverschwendung.

Flaske 500ml fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Sentrum. Veldig mørk amber. Høyt, tett og litt farget skum. Tett lacing. Tydelig maltaroma. Smaken veldig søt. Karamell/knekk med en anelse krydder. Avslutninga er som mandelpudding.
