From a can in an ice cold frozen glass. Pop the lid and wahllah, it smells like the faint nose of a popular pine cleaning fluid. Color is hazy near orange pale. Perhaps a tint of light brown in there? First taste is not as bitter as expected, but yes it is bastardly bitter. A few more glugs, and I think I'm starting to get some cough syrup in there too. This effect is accompanied by the feeling of warmth down the throat. Difficult in the middle, especially for my girlie lager lovin taste buds. Whew, quite an impression. Gets a little boozy towards the end and I think some of that numbing sensation is kikken in. On the finish this all smoothly accumulates into a big mouth-coating labile mess of pine tar, fermented green grapefruit rinds and a little turpentine. There, you have it.

I found the original Elvis more than three years ago in the Bergen airport before taking off for Iceland. Double Elvis a bit less complicated, it came from Halftime here in the US a couple of months ago. Still, I’m happy to take a taste, doing it now from a 12 oz can born on 3/16/22. Pull the tab, pour inside of a tulip glass, I see a dark gold body, quite attractive, with a healthy head of off-white foam. Nice scent of ripe fruit, grain and hops. The taste only improves, malt, grain, grapefruit, caramel, honey and a hint of pine. A creamy sensation, unusual for a dipa. Tasty, rather pleasant. Another fine version of the style.

Elvis Juice on steroids. A bit juicier, and bit boozier. Think I prefer the OG personally.
