Sugary sweet, some molasses, thin. Chicken food flavor. Very sweet, but drinkable.

Commissioned table beer available at the Colruyt supermarkets. Thick, light beige, nicely lacing head and very dark mahogany colour, clear. Caramelly and nutty aroma with a sweetening agent (not sugar, if you ask me, rather aspartame or something like that), iron, soap, cola, dried leaves. Softly sweetish, very mild and friendly taste, caramelly, sucrose in the finish with a light hint of sourishness and something metallic. Considering most of the ratings of this and other Belgian table beers here, it is clear that this declining, perhaps hopelessly old-fashioned beer type is not only misunderstood only by young Belgian consumers.

(Brewed for Copimex-Colruyt, Halle) Clear brown. Thick brown head, immediately gone. Slightly acidic nose, wheat-ish. Something slightly artificial too. Taste is predictably very sweet. Fruit-sugar like, unhopped worts. Light mouthfeel, very clear palate. “Tafelbier” predates nablab’s by ages. It’s still superior to any of the modern lows, even when meant for children mainly. I cannot say this is bad, and calling worts nice. It’s more or less the same.
