What if you combine cress, szechuan peppers and kaffir lime leaves with a Black IPA? With the help of our friends at Koppert Cress we found the perfect cress to combine with beer. This cress provides a slightly spicy and fresh citrus character. In addition to an Oriental tint, the Szechuan peppers also provide a slight tingling on the tongue without being too spicy.

Bottle at home, 19th October 23. Pours a thin black beer. Aroma is medicinal, herbal, green pepper. Taste is chocolate, roasted malts, green vegetal, herbal, pepper and lime playing second fiddle, it’s a bit weird

Tap. Darkest brown color with off-white head. Aroma is peppery, keffir. Taste has fun green stuff, peppery. Light-bodied-ish, refreshing, but a weird combo.

Clear dark brown beer, practically no head. Aroma: pretty faint smell, little sweet impression, malty, grains, caramel notes. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very herbal, soft roast, grains, hay, bitter, malty, grains, grassy. Aftertaste: dry, spicy, some black liquorice, meh.
