Light amber color. Smoky aroma (both smoked ham and beechwood) and flavor. Hidden behind the smoke is some malt and peach fruit. Medium bodied. Fairly easy drinker for a Rauchbier. Long smoky bacon aftertaste. Great!

Bottle @ Rozmanitost, Prague. Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Salami, campfire, caramel and grain. Médium bodied. Ok.

Pours amber with a white head. Aroma is smokey, caramel and nutty. Taste was sweet with the smokey undertones imparting some bitters.

Slightly hazy dark golden with a small white head. Malty aroma with fresh cereal, some caramel and molasses, and a touch of smoke. Dry and slightly watery malty flavour with pronounced smoked flavour, definitely meaty German style, but perhaps also a hint of peat

Bottle from Plan B, Copenhagen
Light amber color; medium sized head. Light caramel and smoke aroma. Dry mouthfeel, lean bodied; quite good caramel flavor with a touch of smoke. The final is dryish. Easy but pleasant.

Dezente Rauchnoten machen sich im Antrunk neben geringfügiger Herbe breit. Sehr langsam kommt auch eine trockene Getreidenote auf, die sich nur schlecht integrieren kann. Süßlich, im Mittelteil auch deutlich würziger. Die Rauchigkeit passt ausgezeichnet, obwohl sie wie zu Beginn eher schwach ist und zumindest versucht, nicht den Mittelpunkt darzustellen. Zum Ende tut sie dies mangels anderer Aromen dann aber doch, weit dahinter Herbe und minimal der Hopfen. Danke an den Doppelbock für das Rauchbier, das fast etwas zu unauffällig agiert. 7/9/10/9/8/10

Bottle. Smoked Black Forest ham and malt aroma. Clear golden yellow color with moderate head. Sweet malt and smoked meat flavor. Nice balance. Very nice smoked beer.

On tap at Brauerei Andreas Sauer, Gunzendorf, during Fin and Loz’s cycle ride around villages to the South and South East of Bamberg, Germany 19-06-10 Pours light amber with a white head and medium carbonation. Nicely Smokey, not over the top, a touch of bacon, but not too much, nice and smooth. Yet another good beer and yet another great bargain, I purchased 500ml of this plus three bottles of beer to take away all for the princely sum of just five euros and twenty cents. Bottled@Plan B, Copenhagen. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is roasted malts, some wood and mild notes of grass. Flavour is fruits, sme smoked malts as well as mild smoked wet wood. Nicely balanced mild smoked beer.
