500ml bottle shared with Gunnar and OleR. Two finger, white head atop of a bright golden body. Mild smell of bacon. Rauch-like taste, lightly spiced. Dry, smooth bittersweet ending (Plan B, Copenhagen 05.05.2010).

Clear golden with a tiny off white head. Smoked aroma with ham and toasted malt. Flavour had smoke, ham, caramel and drying hops. Finished smoked and dry.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small white head. Aroma is smoked and roasted malt. Distinct roasted flavoured. Light meat note. Dry smoked finish.

Draught @ Brauereigasthof Sauer by Brauerei Sauer, Jurastrasse 30, 96155 Gunzendorf, Bavaria, Germany.Clear light medium yellow orange color with a small, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, meat - salami. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, salami - meat. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20100403]

Bottle, 5.6% bought at the brewery. Weak smoky aroma. Clear dark amber colour. Almost no head. The flavour is quite malty with a little smoke. Tastes all right, but is a bit too subtle for my liking.

Ceramic mug. Thick head. The aroma is only lightly smoked. Full malty body, punctuated by smoke. The heaviness of the maltt counteracts the smoke nicely, making for a fairly rich rauchbier experience.

Draught at the brewpub. Lightly hazy brownish amber, small creamy head. Very vague smokey nose. Medium sweet with rounded but not soft mouthfeel. Low bitterness. A bit undeveloped and too vague flavours.

Bottle from Der Treffpunkt, Nurnberg HBF. Copper coloured with a slight white head. Aroma of smoked, honey drench ham. Flavour was of a more subtle smoke - almost like smoked salmon. A pleasant change.
