The brewing process of a “bière de garde” (“beer for keeping”) is an artisanal high-wire act because you’re looking for a brew that’s simultaneously rich and sinewy; clean and earthy; muscular and refreshing. It’s a good thing KEREL has lots of experience combining muscles, beauty and a complex character.

Smell-weak, malt, a bit acidic, maybe faint caramel. Foam- malt, a bit acidic feel some slightly sour notes. Head is large, light brown-white color. Appearance- brewer bottle cap, unique bottle for beer also somewhat interesting label, nice. From - snifter Taste - malt, some citrus, some Belgian yeast-ish tones, citrus mixed with malts. The somewhat weird, but not unpleasant combination ff taste is not bad but also do not wow me. Drinkable and OK for one time I guess.

Bottle. Almost clear dark orange/copper feat. a great white head. Aroma of yeast, malts, stone fruits and caramel. Taste is all that plus apples, some grass and even some citrus fruits. Earthy and slightly tart with a very dry finish. Medium bitterness and medium carbonation. I suppose I quite liked it.

Bottle from Trembling Madness, York. Amber in colour and hazy, with a slight, off-white, head. Belgian yeasts, hedgerow fruits, leafy hops, some caramel and slightly bready malts before a moderately bitter finish. Good.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy copper brown with airy but stable light beige head. Clear aroma of malt, with notes of caramel and yeast and touches of smoke. Bitter, roasty and hoppy flavour, with notes of caramel malt, nuts and yeast. Roasty and bready aftertaste with estery notes. Reasonable but rather metallic and not very impressive.

Bottle, 7%. Weak spicy malt note, molasses and perhaps spicy hops. Almost clear light chestnut colour. Semi-stable off-white head. The flavour is very roasted and caramelly with a woody bitterness in the finish. Roasted caramel, almost smoked caramel or something.
