Göller Dunkel wurde erstmals 1978 zum Anlass der 650-Jahr-Feier der Stadt Zeil eingebraut und ausgeschenkt. Die Resonanz war überwältigend und das Bier wurde überregional schnell als das „Jahrhundertbier“ aus Zeil a. Main bekannt. Bei Meiningers International Craft Beer Award, European Beer Star und World Beer Awardwurde Göller Dunkel mehrfach ausgezeichnet.

50cl Bottle, thanks bierkoning! Clear dark brown colour, off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts, toffee, burnt caramel, cocoa, raisins. Flavour is likewise, with a nice chocolate touch. Sweet, but also dry. Light-bodied. Decent stuff.

500ml bottle. Clear dark copper to brown colour with average, firm, frothy to creamy, moderately lacing, white head. Minimally grainy, moderately roasty dark malty aroma. Taste is slightly sweet dark malty, later with intensening grainy notes, minimally grassy hoppy overtomes.

A nice deep, dark brown dunkel lager from germany. Musty, woody scent greets the nose, roasted malt comes through in the taste. Not heavy in the mouth..good flavor with little aftertaste. Nice on a nippy day to warm the spirits, especially accompanying some fine German cuisine.

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de). Very deep ruby colour, mediumsized fluffy off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is toasted malts, some mild caramel, roast as well as some dark fruity and nutty notes. Flavour is nutty, wooden, roasted, mildly ashy as well as some slight smoked wet wooden notes.

Dark brown color; creamy head. The aroma is light, some roasted malt. The body is correctly built; there is a pleasant flavor of roasted malts, some caramel, light residual sugars. The final is a bit drier and dusty. Correct bitterness. Correctly brewed, as usual, but easy.
