The beer pours with a very large strong foamy head and a hazy orange-golden color. Some visibility but not too much, can just barely make out the bubbles swimming in the beer. The head does not stick around too long but turns into a surface covering lacing.

In general it seems that the beer needs more time for the flavor to meld better. Right now it’s a mix of light perfume, faint bubblegum and a lot of pilsner-like malts. It’s weird and not really working well. The yeasty part ends up being very citric, which is weird again. But I really think with time this well get better and meld.

Everything else is normally done, in the tripel area, a light body especially for the strength. Some cheap sugar sweetness and above average carbonation, spiky mouthfeel.

33 cL bottle. Pours hazy yellow with a huge and gushing white head. Softly spiced and slight malty aroma. Soft spiced flavour with a mild sweetness. Clearly more light than a classic triple, yet it has some smoothness to it that is really pleasant. Ends soft caramel malty.

Bottle: Poured a dirty yellow color ale with a huge foamy head with some great retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt with some spicy notes from the yeast. Taste is a well balance mix between sweet Belgian malt with some nice spicy notes from the yeast and some floral and dry hops notes at the end. Body is above average with some good carbonation and no alcohol is discernable. Very well done for the style and something I wouldn’t mind trying again.

Poured an orangish amber with a thick lasting white head. Sweet malt and fruit aroma. Sweet almost veggy like taste with a zippy finish.

Bottled (BB 09/2007). A bit hazy orange-golden color, good cloudy head. Mango and banana in the nose. Foamy mouthfeel. Dry juniper-like flavor (sahti!) mixed with fruityness. Mainly dry. Hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste.

Bottle, BBE March 2007 Clear, blond body. Big, off-white, long lasting, rocky head. Nose of herbs, vanilla, cookie, straw, ... Lightly bitter, moderately sweet initial flavour. Lightly bitter, lightly sweet finish. Quite disappointing. Very unbalanced flavour. There are good elements in the flavour, but it’s a wrong combination. Just like you would combine chocolate with lamb meat.

(Bottle 33 cl) Slightly hazy pilsener golden with a creamy, white head. Lots of yeast in the nose. Flavour of sweet malt with a slightly sulphurous edge. A heavy yeast sediment clouds the beer completely in the finish. 291205

Cloudy yellow/lightbrown color, big off-white head. Aroma of yeast, citrus, some mandarin, bit hoppy and spicy. Sweet taste, quite yeasty. Decent finish. Quite ok.

Slight gushing to exaggerated creamy-white head, disappearing. Dark orange coloured beer, full of flunky floating fiddlebits - becomes obscene at the end of the bottle. Nice herbal nose of garden weeds or the contents of the garden mowersack. Faint hops. Sweet, slightly bitter taste. Sweet is absolutely liquorice and some candi sugar. Spicey, citrussy (why yes - obvious). More bitter retronasal, vaguely ginger, very yeasty. Medium bodied, quite dry. Pearly - not fizzy. Not bad, a tad stereotypic - but I don't think this beer is meant for ageing. More than a year from its sell-by date, this sample is already showing signs of tiring. Or was it badly kept at the shop?
