Malted barley is a vital part of the Scottish brewing tradition. We use three different varieties to create the deep colour and smooth nuttiness; each grain is milled right here in our brewery, giving us complete control over flavour and freshness.

Then we balance this rich brew with just the right amount of Challenger and Fugle hops.

Hops: Challenger, Fuggle, Pioneer
Malts: Pale Ale, Crystal, Roast

Mahogany brown colour with thin head. Aroma and flavour are predominantly of sweet malts. Has a bit of a shandy feel to it. A bit too sweet but overall.

Dark red pour with a small head. Aromas of fruits/red berries, tastes of red fruit, hops, hints of caramel - not bad.

500ml bottle drunk at home as part of a delivery from the brewery. Brownish red and clear with a small ring of off-white head. Light malty aroma, note of toffee and berries. Sweet taste, very malt-forward, with a light medicinal quality in the finish. Very watery body, medium to heavy carbonation. Sorry for the dull review, but it's a dull beer.

500ml bottle from the brewery. Poured a clear dark reddish amber colour with a short-lived frothy off-white head. The aroma is light toffee, red berry fruits. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a light, slightly watery, mineral, light woody hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Bottle. Red amber color. Steady head. Apple and blackberry aroma. Thin. Malty, hoppy flavor with apple and blackcurrant, just a bit dusty. Fine session ale with a good character.
