Malted barley is a vital part of the Scottish brewing tradition. We use three different varieties to create the deep colour and smooth nuttiness; each grain is milled right here in our brewery, giving us complete control over flavour and freshness.
Then we balance this rich brew with just the right amount of Challenger and Fugle hops.
Hops: Challenger, Fuggle, Pioneer
Malts: Pale Ale, Crystal, Roast

Bottle , smallish head, clear deep red color, aroma of caramel, biscuit and dark fruit, biscuity flavor with a light bitterness and a light pleasant sweetness. Nice but quite simple.

Bottle from Asda Aberdeen. A very flavourful porter but unexpectedly malty and dark.

From bottle at OSB 30.11.16. Chestnut brown. Foamy and persistent beige head and lacing. Aroma of medium dark malt, brittle and red fruits. Similar taste. Good quaffability!

500ml bottle drank on 25th Sep 2015 during a random tasting evening I had with myself at home. Amber body with an off-white head, slight red hint to help with the beers name. Mild malty aroma and taste with a hop bitterness below the surface, getting stronger towards the end of each gulp. Expected more to be honest, lacks interest and character.

Mørk orangebrun klar med fingerhøyt beige skum. Lukter brent sukker/karamell, noe røde bær, trevirke og brunt sukker. Smaker søtt, lett bitter brent karamell og frukt. Kort. Uten serlig bitterhet.
