Seit 1880 wird diese vollmundige Bierspezialität einmal im Jahr zu Weihnachten von unseren Braumeistern nach einem alten Klosterrezept der Mönche gebraut. Ein würziges Bier mit extra hoher Stammwürze und dem besonderen Aromahopfen, das ausgezeichnet zu Weihnachtsgebäck passt oder auch zu herzhaften Gerichten getrunken werden kann.

Bottle 500ml.Clear medium orange yellow colour with a average to large, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white to off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light light heavy malty, grain, hay, fruity, light hoppy, grass. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a average to long duration, malty, fruity, flowery. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120224]

Blond color; poor head. The aroma is smelly, with some sugar, and light rubber. Poor flavor, low bitterness, possibly sweeter than a regular Lager, and with a light metallic aftertaste. There is nothing Christmas here.

Leicht herber, recht süßer Antrunk mit leichtem Hopfenbeiton. Die Süße verschwindet zum Mittelteil bereits, dieser ist auch sonst sehr mild geraten. Es regieren wässrige Aromen, die Würzigkeit steckt allenfalls in den Kinderschuhen. Trocken, etwas herb, lieblos. Es mangelt an so ziemlich allem, Würze, Malzigkeit, nicht mal minimal hopfig ist das Bier. Ziemlich langweiliges Bier! Danke an Erzengel für das Bier! 9/5/6/5/11/5

(bottle) Clear, deep golden to amber colour with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Slightly dusty, moderately sweet (cara-)malty aroma with a tinge of citrus and herbal hops. Light-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Cara-malty base with notes of bread and herbal hops. Rather dry but malt-accented finish with rounded bitter hops. Nice brew from an industrial brewer (15.VII.09).

Bottle (thanx to Stefan!) Deep golden with a quite stable white foam; citrousy nose - malty-toasty traces included - with some aromatic hops in the background; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; slightly lingering malty-zoasty finish with lemony hops in the aftertaste. Good Märzen...........

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a crispy white head. Mild spiced and malty aroma. Flavour starts sweet and spiced. Spiced and bitterhops flavour into the finish, quite smoothly balanced. Medium dry and bitter finish.
