Tap at the brewery - opaque pour - thin tan lace - nose of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate-covered cherry - sadly, there are also underlying notes of pancake batter which I cannot un-smell - flavor is sweet, but balanced well with a deep tart cherry skin flavor and oaky qualities - chocolate, bourbon, light espresso - oily texture - finish is red wine tannins, plum, and tamarind - it’s tasty, but that pancake bit in the nose diminishes my enjoyment.

Sampled from the tap at First Draft MN. Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of vanilla and bourbon with sweet dark grains and a bit of bitter chocolate. Flavor has a real nice bourbon and vanilla combination with growing bitter chocolate and a touch of dark grain in the finish.

Bottle shared by Logan. Pours black, with no head. Strong vanilla, milk chocolate, brandy, toffee, syrup, and a bit of rye. Very syrupy sweet, with no balance. Heavy, boozy, and thick. This is a fun, wonderfully aromatic stout, but a little too boozy and cloying.
