Slight licorice aroma, almost salty. Strong licorice flavor. Sweetish taste with grapes Re-rate: hints of honey and mandarin, both in aroma and flavor. Alcoholic. New recipe?

(Bottle 30 cl) Very dark brown coming close to black. Lots of impurities and a tall, light brown head. Has some sourish notes bordering what you find in a Flemish sour. Notes of burned malt. Solid if a bit unusual. 220204

A golden beer with a fine creamy off-white head. The aroma is sweet spicy - a combination of green peas and hops with some fresh cut grass in the background. The flavor is bitter but in a different way, that reminds me of grapefruit without the sourness. The flavors also include caramel and some coriander. The mouthfeel is very smooth.

Cloudy dark color, short brownish head. Aroma of chocolat and roasted malts. Taste is malty, some chocolat, yeasty, some sourness again. Sweet palate, some alcohol burn.

Cloudy dark amber color; generous head. Deep malt aroma, liquorice, soy sauce. Quite malty; sour and aggressive, reminding some more famous Flemish (Duchesse de Bourgogne…). Interesting.

Very dark brown; yellow head, as if coloured with turmeric, reasonably stable. Nose with chalk, some chocolate malt. Nice herbal nose, a bit lactic, even fruity. Bitter-vinous taste, with a retronasal sour-sweet taste. Great balance, as retronasal, it swings again to bitter-tobacco-cigar notes. I've often liked Maasland products. Good full palate, gets leathery notes in the aftertaste (long lasting). Sorry, Silk, this is what I call complex. Much better than average. If somebody starts with an obligatory 'taste the Northern Lowlands', this might be included.
