16 oz can from John, thanks bud, 1/12/24. This can (2023 version I assume) clocks in at 11.5%. Dark brown-black color with a medium brown head. Ash, roast, and wood. Bourbon / booze. Minimal chocolate. A little burnt coffee. Good bit of a dark fruit (fig / raisin / prune) thing as well. Not fully working for me. Haven't had the original in a few years, but I remember it being better than this one, which is okay, but just doesn't quite work for me.

Can (2023 edition) pour shared by Steve. Opaque virtually black with ring of beige head and no lacing. Aroma is strong bourbon w/red-wine bias. Taste mirrors aroma, late oak. Smooth, thick texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. No alcohol burn. The bourbon flavor dominates (and not a favorite of mine) and no chocolate/coffee. Charitably, I'd let this sit for 9-12 months and see if it changes. Didn't finish.

Pour is a motor oil black with a large mocha tan head. Aroma is bourbon, vanilla, oak and alcohol. Flavor is pretty much all bourbon and alcohol with a vanilla left on the tongue. Not a heavy mouthfeel like bourbon county, this was a bit thin but there were big bourbon notes and hot alcohol. This may be a beer you want to lay down for a while. As it is now it is strong bourbon and alcohol.
Vaadine, alkone, vanilje, röst, šokolaad, burboon, iiris. Ok.
I've had a few of the Stout in the bourbon barrel beers. Always making that list is Kentucky Bastard by Nickel Brook here in Ontario, and no that because its really good, it just happens to be local. This brew, has some similarlies to those, but differences too. Look dark and thick, nose of toasted malts, booze, coffee ans toffee. The taste, its alot lighter and fresher than I expected. That's not to say there isn't strong coffee and molasses, but the malt seems lighter almost fruity, no weighted down. And the booze is buried too. This could be dangerous. Well done.

Pint can from Niemuth's, 2/5/23. Black, medium fizzy brown head, poor retention. Aroma of cocoa, plum, vanilla, whiskey, oak, booze. Taste is roast, raisin, chocolate, oak, cherry, mild whiskey. Moderate booze, surprisingly thin. Was hoping for more.

Something seems off; the bourbon overshadows the stout, which, to be honest, may not be a bad thing. The stout presents a semisweet chocolate front, but grows a severe berry streak in the middle, covering up any wanted notes of roast and anise. Finishes with oak and a shit-ton of Four Roses. Not a great BA beer.
