I received a pint can as a gift in a mixer six. The most intriguing of the bunch, no question. I really like the can, all black and silver with four small roses on the front. There is a snifter out to catch this pour, I determine a completely black liquid with a rapidly diminishing head of tawny foam. A curious scent, astringent sweet and sour with chocolate hovering in the background. The taste is similar but strikes me as better. Dark chocolate, a bit of coffee, herbal, a hint of booze and grain. Different than any other imperial stout I can remember. A nice density to it. Interesting.

From a 750ml bottle on 1/1/2021 (shared with Ed and Butz). Pours not far off black with little in the way of head. Has a strong bourbon nose against a dark chocolate background. Tastes sweet up front with dark chocolate, coffee, dark dried fruit and hints of vanilla. Finishes boozy with masses of bourbon, with some licorice and roasty notes. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. A complex, quite impressive sipper.

Pours a near black from a can, dark brown head. Big vanilla, roasted chocolate malts, milk chocolate in the nose, similar flavor. Somewhat thick, with an oily finish. Pretty good beer.
