Bourbon Barrel Aged Cinnamon Bun Stout

Memory Systems is an Imperial Stout brewed with a caramel-toned, baked pastry malt base and aged in a braid of Old Fitzgerald, Heaven Hill, and Elijah Craig barrels that strike back with a finished 14% ABV.
We conditioned the beer with a four-day marshmallow steep and a recirculation through Madagascar vanilla beans, Vietnamese cinnamon, and cassia bark. An opening crawl of cinnamon awakens the senses and swirls into a vanilla frosting mid-palate with galaxies of marshmallow as the liquid warms.

Dark brown. Thin head. The aroma is big cinnamon, lots of chocolate. On the palate, it's got nice and brown sugar, light vanilla, marshmallow, with a good chocolate and alcohol base. Sweet, with some quality.

Bottle shared at the CBJ BIG BOOSTY XMAS tasting, thanks to the wingmane, 13/12/23. Black topped with a tan cap that thins to the edge. Nose is chocolate, toffee, cinnamon, spice, toffee fudge. Taste comprises chocolate melt, vanilla essence, dried fruit rinds, spice, molasses, toffee crisp, bourbon rasp. Full bodied, oily mouthfeel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Top drawer BA impy.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Junction - big thanks to Dave. Pours oily black with a small, creamy tan head. Big sweet flavour, ample gooey chocolate, raisins, figs, cinnamon, some booze. Full bodied, chewy, with fine carbonation. Hot finish, loads of marshmallows, toffee, toasted cinnamon, cocoa, fudge. Very tasty.

Bottle shared at craft beer junction bermondsey Bottle share. Many thanks. A dark black brown coloured pour with a halo of tan head. Aroma is medium sweet, woody, peanut butter, vanilla, cookie butter. Flavour is composed of raspberry, cakey. Coco's cakey, vanilla.. Thick and chewy.

Craft Beer Junction. Xmas bottleshare. Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth thinnish dark malts, decent dark chocolate. Fair dose of fruity cinnamon. Smooth slightly spicy and semi dry finish. Nice Xmas Impy, could not drink a whole bottle.

Bottle shared at Craft Beer Junction from Chucks Hop Shop, Seattle. Pours jet black with a dirty tan head. Aroma is cinnamon, pastry, molasses, boozy dried fruit. Taste is a cinnamon bun, chocolate, dried boozy fruit. Just excellent.

Very nice stuff. Cinnamon, roast. Oily black pour with good head and lacing. Bittersweet finish. Some bourbon. Very nice package. Almost as good as Ghost Proton. Tap at Snally.

Had at Snallygaster 2023. Poured a nearly pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was big cinnamon, roast. Bourbon barrel shines through in this one. Cinnamon bun. Alcohol is well masked in this.
