Betwixed and between a stout and ale, although has no real flavour to it. Dry finish.

Cask: Deep amber coloured with ruby sparks, creamy stable beige head; dryish fruity nose with toasted malt and a tinge of smoke; smooth, light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, nearly medium bodied; slightly vinous - and very faint sourish - bitter-sweet finish with a distinctive fruitiness. Good example.....

Cask at the Hole In The Wall, Southsea, UK on 16th October 2009. Dark ruby body and pale brown head. Slight smoke in the aroma; very bitter and sligtly grassy kick; satisfyingly bitter finish. A rich burnt malt/coffee/bitter chocolate note late on in the flavour cycle of this excellent stout.

Bottled(500ml). -Almost black coloured, big creamy brown head, fruity nose with touch of wood. Strong roasted malt, light smoked, and fruity notes with very discreet blackberry hints. Pleasant roasty aftertaste. Better than Honey Porter Iโve tried before.

500ml bottle picked up at Luvians Bottle Shop in St Andrews. Missing head, but nice laceworks on the glass. Clear russet coloured body. Berries and malts to the nose. Much the same goes for the rather special taste of blackberries joined by earthy malts. Very dry, in fact, a bit of old books. Medium bodied [06.11.2008].

(Bottle, Monkโs Cafรฉ, Stockholm) Black colour with lasting, frothy, pale brown head. Roasted, malty nose with coffee, milky chocolate and wild berries. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate, wild berries and generous doses of cocoa bitterness in the finish. Fairly dry with lots of bitterness coming through towards the end, nicely balanced by the fruity blackberry flavours. Very nice beer.
