Sweet, malty, caramel, very shy hops-like things

Adding in my 300 Beers To Try ticks because I want to see how they impact my stats and some of them I will never see again. Will however re-rate them when practical.

Best before May 2020. Good thing I looked at the reviews; I didn't realize that I hadn't reviewed it yet!

It pours a lovely clear amber with a very healthy looking head of foam.

Smells of bread, caramel malt, some grassy hop notes. Excellent balance imho.

Bready malt, grassy hops, working in unison. Sip after sip, a true joy to drink. Light sweetness, which is overdone in quite a few domestics of the style. Not too hoppy, again, I've tasted that in some domestics. Simple, tasty, done right.

Smooth, almost creamy mouthfeel.

I haven't seen this very often in Casper.
This was part of a mixed case of the Premier Lager and Optimator Doppelbock. Cost me around $34. What a bargain!

Bottle from Beer Zoo. Clear golden body with a thin white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of earth and a hint of sour grain. Flavour follows the aroma. Medium body with a watery, slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Not bad, but not one I’d rush to have again.

Malty, soapy aroma. Sweetish, malty, bit herbal taste with lots of fruit (prune). A bit sticky, but clean and a nice fruity finish.

Bottle, 500 ml at Cajt. Pours clear amber with white head. Caramel, malty, grainy, sweet, some bitterness in finish. Light bodied. Watery. Not my thing.
