Bottle. Pours a hazy, brown body with a creamy, beige head. Very nutty nose, where the chocolate, coffee, dried fruits and bitterness are left in the background. Sure I like nuts, but this was too much for my likings. Still itβs far from bad. The flavor has surprisingly a touch of alcohol for starters, then chocolate, coffee and bitterness comes stronger. Full, warming mouthfeel, and roasted finish. There was so much alcohol here that I suspect itβs much stronger than the 5.5% the label states. Quite nice beer though. (080215)

330 ml bottle. Hazy red/brown body with a foamy beige head. A vague sharp/harsh aroma. Flavor is sweet and sour, some caramel and hops. Not very typical porter and might not exactly a successful hazelnut experiment.

Bottle. Murky dark brown with a huge tan head - carbonation was excessive. Sweet malt and nut aroma with some yeast. Flavour dominated by yeast with some nuttiness and vague hint of coffee. Alcohol was very prominent for a 5.5% ABV beer. Not very porter-like.

A hazy red-brown beer with a thin light brown head - doesnβt look much like a porter. The aroma is sweet with notes of nuts, cleaning fluids, and burnt plastic - not very pleasant. The flavor is sweet with notes of burnt wood, nuts, and hints of plastic. The end is dry and slightly acidic. I hope this is supposed to be better - it was sampled 10 days after best before date, so donβt cellar this one.

Bottled, sampled July 2005 in Amsterdam
Almost opaque black, good tanned head. Strong roasted, chocolaty nose, some sweet yeast too. Light to medium-bodied, more on watery-side. Bitterness and woody nut flavors override roastyness, which comes out in the finish. Unbalanced.

Beer looks as Coca - Cola for all the world, with a very fast gone head, leaving some lace. Liquorice, tobacco, a bit smoked and faraway nutty. Tobacco taste as well, with dark smoked malts, leafy as aucuba. Retronasal tonguesides gives some more liquorice or treacle sweetness, blending seemlessly into the beer. Rather thin MF. Exception taken for the MF, quite pleasing beer, good try.

Cloudy dark amber color. Very nice hop aroma, with some caramel. Yeasty and a bit sour taste, with some roasted nuts and caramel. Strong bitterness, with some (hidden) hop aroma. Quite homebrew style, but not bad.

Cloudy nutbrown color, short creamy head. Aroma is yeasty, loads of hazelnut (?), dusty, cardboard. Strange flat sweetness in flavor, hazelnut, again a bit dusty. Maybe not a bad brew, but certainly not my kind of flavor.
