Urtebitterhet. Smudiknudi!

Shared bottle at Cardinal. Pours black with no head. Aroma of coffee, quite some fruity notes. Tastes pretty sweet with little bitterness, some acidity. Medium bodied. Cold coffee with 15 % alcohol - nice!

Bottle from the Mikkeller Tasting Room, Bangkok. Poured a clear almost black colour with little life. The aroma is roasted malt, molasses. The flavour is strong sweet, with a smooth, rich, roasty, molasses, slightly oily, chocolate, red berry fruits, raisins, liquorice, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Full bodied with flat carbonation.

Draught@TCBW2023. Pitch black colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolaty, some mild nutty, toffeeish and a bit coffee tones as well. Flavour is toffee, coffee, some roasted malty and nutty tones with mild some caramel and mild alcohol sweetness as well. Alcohol is actually surprisingly mellow considering this is 14 %...

Bottle. A more or less black one, oily pour, headless. The aroma has lots of coffee, a generous amount of dark chocolate, a nice boozyness, some oak and oats, and quite a lot of roasted malts. Quite breakfasty in many ways, but with a big twist. It's full-bodied and warming, sweet but not cloying and with a fine bitterness level. Quite viscous, with a very light tannin touch. The flavor has a very nice blend of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts, backed up by the bourbon booze, oak and some spiced hints. Ginger, nutmeg and/or cardamom. After the beer warms slightly I detect the spiced touch in the aroma too. Some molasses and dark dried fruit, prune and fig, show up in the very end. Overall, perhaps a bit too much on the sweet, alcoholic side, but it's one pleasant beer for sure. 241003

375 ml waxed bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 14%. Pitch black colour, moderate to small brown head. Distinct aroma of coffee. Extremely sweet flavour, loads of sweetened coffee. Also roast malts and loads of alcohol. Good in small portions, the bottle is for sharing.

deep dark, almost black colour, moderate sized creamy beige-ish head; aroma of prune, dried cherry, some dark chocolate, some vanilla, ash and roasted coffee; taste of syrupy-burnt sugary, vanilla, nutmeg, coffee and caramel notes; great one

0.33l bottle thanks to Lore. Black body with a brown head. Aroma of caramel, cocoa, chocolate, coffee, nutmeg and vanilla. The vanilla character is much stronger in the taste than in the aroma. It also has notes of coffee, chocolate, nutmeg and some caramel. Nice smooth sweet stout.
