Barely detectable malt aroma. Clear golden pour, no head. Great honey taste, no hops. Slight honey aftertaste. Typical foreign lager. Lacks color and aroma qualities to make it a higher rated beer, but it tastes great. That’s really what ciounts most after all. Very drinkable.

Why haven’t too many people rated this? Seems curiousity would get the better of you. I’ve seen it in my dealers case everytime I’ve gone in there. Finally I bought a $2 12 oz bottle. It says ’the official state beer of china’ on it. Clear bottle with gold and silver tin foil on it. My bottle looks like the picture on this site but it says ’premium yanjing beer’ on it not ’ yangjing 11 degree premium extra’!! Pours like any other pale yellow american beer. Has the initial smell of skunky vegatables and then fades to a more fruity aroma. Not too bad of a flavor, it is not offensive. Interesting slightly industrialized metallic background flavor, perhaps of rice or plastic, not sure. Palate is average carbonation.Finish reminds me a bit of King Lager from Australia but it is not quite as strong. Not sure why this is rated so low. Just like your typical pale yellow american beer style, with a hint of personality.

Got this bottle for another country rating ai Tam O’Shanter Liquors: Nose is yeasty and grainy; gold with a tiny white head; flavor grainy with a little tartness at the finish.

I really expected this to be total crap, but honestly I have had far worse. Sampled from a 12 oz clear bottle this beer poured a medium golden color with a large soapy white head. The aroma is skunky and lightly peppery. The flavor is light and crisp with a tangy yet sweet middle and a light dry finish. Far less skunk on the flavor as opposed to the nose. Not great but certainly no drain pour.

Dang, what a beer. Pale and crystal clear straw, with a fading head. Aroma of moldy hops and sewer. Light bodied, tastes of moldy garbage with lingering putrid presence, both bitter and astringent. Easily the worst beer I’ve had. Foul.

Flat looking pale lager with a syrupy floral aroma, and a very sweet, weak barley wine and aperitif flavour. Overall a very weird tasting beer.

Had a bottle of this at 9 Dragons in "China" at Epcot. While it was nice that you could find something other than Tsingtao, this was no better. Pours a sickly yellow with a thin white head. Aroma was not skunked which is a plus, but didn't exactly have any pleasant aromas either. Thin bodied and lightly hopped. Apparently Chinese rice tastes about the same in beer as American rice.

Bottled. Pale yellow. Sweet aroma of old vegetables. Thin, chemical and mellow wit a flvour reminding of unfermented wort. No hops to be detected, but at least it has a soft mouthfeel.
