Our Festival Bier is a 5.7% golden lager that we brewed to celebrate all things heritage barley. We've used a greatest hits mega-blend of 10 of our favourite barley varieties. These often forgotten grains have become a part of the fabric of Newbarns and in many ways this beer is the epitome of what we're all about. Barley varieties: Haná, Plumage Archer, Scotch Annat, Scotch Common, Maris Otter, Golden Promise, Bere, Chevallier, Barke and Isaria.

440ml can from Simply Local: BB 14th May 2024. Drank in Devon on 15th March 2024 while visiting my parents. Clear orange amber, no head at all. It's a fairly sweet malty brew and not unlike the Bavarian original 'Festbiers'.

Can from Luvians St Andrews. It pours clear golden - amber with a dissipating white head. The aroma is hearty maltage, toasty grains, cereal, nuttiness, brown bread and some grass. The taste is dry, toasty grain, bitter - sweet, bready malts, cereal, nuttiness, underlying sweetness, sponge cake, grass, touch of woody spice and rivita with a dryish , toasty finish. Average body and light carbonation. Probably needs a bit of a lift from more carbonation. Decent nonetheless.

440ml can. Clear amber gold, white head. Aroma of sweet malts, bready, caramel. Taste is malty, bready, caramel, quite sweet but has a light hoppy bitter finish. Decent lager just a little sweeter than I'd hoped.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from HOTM. Pours clear honey-gold with a slight, foamy off-white head. Light to medium sweet flavour with notes of toasted malts, cereal, straw, a little caramel and honey, nips of grass. Light bodied with average carbonation. Lightly sweet, malty finish, more lightly toasted biscuits, a faint metallic note, grass, straw. Very tasty festbier.
