Dark brown with a medium sized beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, anise and caramel. Flavour was sweet with roasted malt, caramel, coffee and anise. Sweet spicy finish.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, JDW, Ashford. Dark brown colour, spiced aorma. Spicy strong ale, some sweetness from malts. Itโs an interesting spiced beer, well put together. Good spicy tartness on finish. Yes, itโs good. Pretty good to be honest, such a good combo of rich malts and balanced spice. Very good.

[Cask at the Hope Tap, Reading] Deep amber-brown, yellowy beige head. A spicy curry-like tingle at the back of the throat from the first sip. Some minerals. A slight fizz. The sweetness, heaviness and stickiness of an ESB, yet strangely lacking in flavour and ultimately a little watery. Normally I like spicy beers but I was disappointed by this one. c8

500nl bottle from Westholme Stores, Goring. Attractive reddish copper coloured with a fast-fading cream head; fruity aroma of ripe apples; fruit and spice flavours with full-bodied malts; gentle bitterness, then a sweet smoky treacly finish. Different and very drinkable.

Aroma: Sweet smell: coffee, nutty, a little ginger, a bit on the odd side
Appearance: Dark brown color with a slight red hue, about an inch of beige head
Flavor: Smooth malty beer, a complex/spicy but slightly light flavor if that makes any sense, some hops show up in the end palate
Palate: Medium body, a but thin and watery
Overall Impression: An odd one, but interesting, certainly worth a try. Reminds me a bit of a watery Porter

Dark cola like colour and small, beige head. Aroma is complex and very pleasant: sweetness, liquirice, pine forest-like hops and some chocolates. Flavour is different than aroma, slightly sweet, roasted, some pine needles, peppery and also spicy herbs. Tingleing in the mouth that is output of species and not carbonation, at the same time nice and allmost full bodied. Morocco Ale is quite weird beer, where flavour and aroma are totally different; roasted, quite sweet aroma meets surprising and peppery spiciness. Different beer than others, absolutely worth to try.

A reddish brown ale with a thin off white head. A light burned caramel aroma with light chocolate notes. In mouth, a clean caramel malt, roasted nuts, light licorice notes, medium bodied.A good brown ale. Tasted around Jan 2007.

(Bottle on 2008-04-04) Clear and brown. Hardly any head. Hops and malts in nose. Dry palate. Taste is from roasted malts and some hops.

Clear dark ruby pour, with a fizzy, small head of off-white foam - sweet and doughy aroma, with notes of brown sugar, ginger, nutmeg, prunes, slight earthy/vegetal qualities - low carbonation, medium bodied - not as sweet as the aroma suggests, but flavors of brown sugar and caramel are quite strong - an interesting combination of spices and lightly bitter herbs make this quite interesting - ginger, light chocolate, even a tobacco character - the spices become quite peppery in the finish, warming the mouth and throat - quite nice, really.
