Bottle @ Early Winter Tasting, Odense, 2011. Pours ruby copper with a small white head. Ginger and spices. Caramel and mint. Medium bodied. One dimensional.

Bottle. Dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of ginger, dark sugars, other hard spices - perhaps cloves, cassia, aniseed. Maybe even some mint. Taste is sweet and deeply but gently spicy. Quite rich but refreshing.

Clear dark reddish brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and heavy spicy - ginger. Flavor is rather sweet and light bitter. sweet and spicy finish. Ginger is really dominating this, and I never liked ginger in my beer. Otherwise there is nothing wrong. 150910

Bottle. Sweet ginger and toffee malt. Dark brown with no appreciable head. Strong sweet ginger and light toffee malt flavor with a mild bitter finish. Decent body. Interesting. "Luck to Levens whilst t’Kent flows!"

pours very dark brown, with a smooth light brown head. not sourish notes , but sort of like cake glazing and chocolate cake in the aroma, also some spices that sort of resembles licorice or anise, but is not. malty notes. intersting and pretty nonstandard aroma. flavor is sweet malty, dark caramelly, lots of dark bitter caramel, going into spicy notes with hints of licorice and several other spices. some hints of butter. tastes almost like a spicy chocolate cake. lots of flavor. This bottle sampled one day before the best before date. Didn’t taste old, butI I could sense it was beginning to age.

Bottle. Medium head with medium duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are fruits, malt, hops, spices and caramel.

Bottle from Brewforia. Pours dark garnet with a foamy 3 finger beige/tan head. Aromas of dark fruit and chocolate? Medium plus body with moderate carbonation. Flavor definitely suggests medium dark fruit and towards chocolate malt. However, I’m guessing this is a herb/spice beer without hop. Maybe some rosemary? Interesting and quite tasty.

Medium coarse brown head. Dark ruby red body. Fruity spicy cardamom and cinnamon aroma, with gingery notes. Dry-sweetish gingery cinnamon taste with fruity wild berry notes. Mild mouthfeel, yet also hot and spicy. Light body. Dry astringent malty gigery aftertaste with spicy cardamom notes. Very nice, highly unusual, but could use more malt body. (0.25l cask, Doggett’s Coat and Badge, London.)
