We wanted to create a true representation of Scotland, away from the tired cliches and usual tropes you might see on TV. A bold and unique idea was needed to showcase Scottish culture in all its glory…
Then we thought, screw that, let’s brew a double deep-fried m*rs bar imperial stout and make it 15.5%.
Deep fried m*rs bars are as synonymous with our country as haggis or Iron Brew, and we wanted to bring this dessert to life in a beer. With Neon Raptor’s help we packed it to the brim with chocolate malt, cacao nibs and an authentic deep-fried taste from adding battered m*rs bars right into the mash tun.

pours dark brown but not black, brow head that soon fizzes away. aroma is toffee, dark choclate, caramel, a mars bar nutty sensation. flavor is quite candy bar sweet, vanilla, white fluffy french caramel, white chocolate, dark chocolate, the sweet yellow layer you find in some chocolate cakes, quite extreme but qute tasty also. the alc is really strong and adds some balance. roasted malts are in the background so this is much more pastry than imp. stout.

Keg @ Tap and Can. Pours black, thin dark brown head. Aroma oozes sweet unctious caramel and milk chocolate, Mars bar. Flavour profile builds on this wondrously, definitely all about the chocalatey caramel without getting too rich, just enough for the ABV. Intense, but right up my street.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - opaque black with a tan crema head. Nose - pancakes, chocolate spread and hazelnut. Taste - luscious toffee, caramel and sweet chocolate. Wafer and pancake backdrop. Palate - medium to full bodied, rich and creamy middle and finish. Overall - luscious.
