Session IPA by one of Spain’s well-known craft breweries, from a can shared with Craftmember. Thickly foamy, egg-white, cobweb-lacing, firm and dense head, clear pure yellow-golden robe with visible sparkling, misty with sediment. Aroma of white peppercorns, toasted garlic, grapefruit peel, dried wormwood leaf, dandelion, tonic water, bread crust, dry crackers, green onions. Crisp onset, clean and dryish with vague unripe banana and green pear notes, medium carb and oily mouthfeel, feeling relatively ‘full’ for its ABV. Grainy, bread-crusty pale malts in the middle, under a very wormwoody, grapefruity and peppery hop bitterness, tonic water-ish and rooty in its lasting bitterness yet without completely destroying the maltiness; dank notes of toasted onion and old grapefruit peel make this West Coast-like experience complete. Sharp, crisp, a bit dank, sleek and to the point, without unnecessary frills: this hits its target immediately and masterfully. Session IPA in first generation style – as if no ‘haze movement’ has ever happened.
