Okay, so we are taking liberties with style naming here but if you are willing to accept Cold IPA, then Cold Black IPA must also be a thing right? Anyway, we thought this would be a really fun beer to make. Using a malt bill that creates a black colour but low on roast flavour while also providing a soft yet dry mouthfeel and then fermented with our house lager yeast at higher temperatures yet still lower than our ales fermentations temperatures. This provides a super clean and smooth platform to layer in all of the piney, orangey resin. With hot side additions of Simcoe and Amarillo followed by dry hopping with the same and a touch of Columbus this dank, resinous and big on citrus flavours.

Can shared, black beer, small head. Aroma is roast, coffee, citrus, chocolate. Taste is the same, bitter, roast, chocolate, citrus. Very good.

Tap at Garage in Barcelona, advertised as a BIPA, 9th January 24. Pours black. Aroma is chocolate and light roast. Taste is sweet, cocoa, roasted malts. Not that great

On tap in Ambasada. Black with beige head. Roasted malts, some chocolate, hoppy, fruity notes, sweetish with bitterness in finish. Medium bodied.

Can from Beerdome. Black with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, roasted malt and moderate hoppy - pine. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Dry and moderate bitter finish. 291023

Pours dark brown with a small and lacing tan head. Aroma: light roasted malts, liquorice and earthy hops. Taste: earthy and roasted hops. Mild hop burn aftertaste. Medium bodied.

On tap at Ambasada Zagreb, shared with hrabren. According to Garage folks this one is Black Cold IPA. Black coloured, medium sized beige head, roasty hoppy nose. Roasted malt, bitter chocolate, hops and discreet coffee with fruity touch in the finish. Not bad at all.

On tap at the Garage TTO, Ambasada, Zagreb, shared with Ogi. Dark brown to black, reddish tint, small to medium tan head. Light roasty aroma, nutty, slightly toasty, slightly fruity. Smooth, drinkable, nice roasty and slightly smokey profile. Tart roasty and slightly burt. Body is light and smooth. Dry finish.

0,3l on tap @ One Pint Pub. Pours very dark brown with a medium off-white head. Aroma is dry roasted malts with notes of coffee and fruits. Flavor is dry roasted malts, some fruity notes, some coffee, hops. Light but not watery. Excellent.
