Our 2023 Vintage Ale combines the best of traditional tastes with new hop varieties to deliver this year's own distinct character. Pale Ale malt is at the heart for delicate sweetness, combined with DRC®, a Double Roasted Crystal malt, to provide deeper toffee and raisin tones. Once more we highlight modern English hops, using Opus, Archer, and CF185 to provide peach accents and a pronounced citrus note, underpinned by the zesty marmalade character of our famous Fuller's yeast.

Lovely UK hops, semi sweet malts, beautiful bready cereals. Figs, candied apples, sherry, grassy Goldings. Medium bitter, extremely satisfying, hoppy, grassy finish, with lovely sharp cereals.

First beer of 2025, drank at home on New Years Day. 500ml bottle # 31660. Amber body, off white crown. Malty front with a toffee like aroma and taste, some light orange marmalade traces came into the flavours late on, nice beer all round.

Bottle shared with JMD and JFE at JFE’s place 22.12.24. Cloudy brown. Brown head and lacing. Fine taste of pale malt, slightly darker malt, dried tropical fruits, madeira and figs. Good!

Decided to clear out the collection this one was next. Really rich malt and hops that resulted in a great flavour and mouthfeel. Really rich and it would probably improve over a few years. And remarkably drinkable.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Waitrose. Pours crystal clear copper with a frothy, eggshell topping; looks immaculate. Medium sweet flavour with well toasted malts, berries, caramel, toffee. Medium bodied with massaging carbonation. Surprisingly little warmth in the finish, given the ABV, with further toasted toffee, a nip of earthy bitterness, more ripening berries. Very tasty and impressively drinkable.

Bottled 500ml (PBF XIV, Systembolaget Haparanda) Amber colour, firm beige head. Orange jam, hops in the nose. Medium-bodied. Marmalade fruityness, some hops, pine, quite sweet. Light alcohol kick, I don't see much potential for ageing. Average vintage.
