This is our flagship product, now in its fifth vintage. We’ve changed the name from ’Calville’ to Heirloom to reflect more clearly the heritage and complexity of the the blend. In addition to MacIntosh and Empire, Russets provide full-bodied sweetness, Calville Blanc and Esopus Spitzenburg provide acidity and citrus notes for balance, and Ashmead’s Kernel provides natural tannins for structure. Serve it with artisanal cheeses, game or dessert.

Bottle sample at a Yana's tasting at Max's place. Clear deep golden. Rich apple, caramel, a bit honey-ish, sweet and slightly sourish, rounded. Great.

Pours a nice clear but very dark amber, approaching copper, from a bottle. Rich apple syrup aroma, great balanced acidity and tannins, very sweet. Great cider.

Bottle: Poured a golden with no head. Aroma is sweet apples and light spice, cinnamon. Taste is diabetes sweet sugary apples, my teeth hurt. Delicious!

ABV: 10.0%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with virtually no head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, sweet apples, wood, rich apples. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light acidic with a long duration, apple, concentrated apples, rich, tart apples, light vanilla - sweet apples. Body is medium, texture is syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is warming and light alcoholic. [20190802]

375ml bottle from Scrattings. Orangey-brown amber colour, no head and aroma of contentrated apple, apple pie pastry, vanilla. Taste is sweet, apple syrup, apple pie, caramel, vanilla, spicy, citric hints, booze. Oily syrupy mouthfeel, full bodied, low carbonation, lingering sweet warm boozey finish. Nicely sippable.
